March 2022

The Senior's Tea on April 2nd is fast approaching!

If you are willing to help, please come to a committee meeting on Thursday, March 17th at 7:00pm at the Kamloops Curling Club.

We are still looking for Volunteers to help with this event. In particular, we could use some help in the kitchen.  Ideally a Team Lead to be the "go to" for the Kitchen Team, and do the meal planning/grocery shopping for the event. Volunteering the day of will be from 10:00 to 3:00 pm.

Even if you cannot commit to the entire 10-3 day, if you could spend a couple hours in the kitchen from 10am to noon it would be greatly appreciated.
Looking forward to seeing our members at the committee meeting on March 17th and at the Seniors' Tea!
If you have any questions or to sign up as a volunteer, please reach out to Christine at 250-318-1346 or

A message from President Natalie:

The Rotary Club of the Rivers is officially The Satellite E-Club of Chelan the Rivers.

We are so pleased that Chelan sponsored this club and supports the efforts of the 8 charter members. PDG Sherry Chamberlain has been working on this for a number of years and as their sponsor is excited to see it grow.

Diane Golchert from our club will be transferring to chair this new club but will remain an Honorary member of this club. Her honor was given to her after approval from the board. Because Diane has initiatives she would like to see through in Kamloops West- this seemed like a good plan. She may not have voting rights in our club but she can still sit on committees and help out this community through this club.  We thank Diane for her continued loyalty to Rotary and to this club.

The new club is a satellite and only required 8 members. Diane will be joined by Kara Lemire, Nancy Flood and Ashley Ekelund from Kamloops, Barry Wilson and Dave Ramsay of Salmon Arm, and Susan & Charles Eberth of Ontario.

Rotary Club of the Rivers is a global club and is the first Global E-Club of District 5060. The focus is on environmental sustainability and the economy.

Rotary Club of the Rivers meets the 1st and 3rd Wednesday’s of the month at 5pm, with guest speakers on the first and club business/fellowship on the third Wednesday. Everyone is welcome to attend or come for a make-up.  If you know of someone who left Rotary, please pass this news along.
